A nod to nautical
Sixteen on Center got the opportunity on this project to fully outfit an unfinished lower level to accommodate a bunk room, office space, music room, and bathroom.
Themed around nautical influences, the entire space was treated as a giant built-in installation. The bunk area features custom finished bead board treatment, 2 tiers of bunks, reading lamps and even a stair with drawers built into the risers. This maximized the space available and nods to the detail and feel of a hull of a ship. The centrally located stair was existing in this spot, wo we made a point to celebrate its presence with mitered beadboard, blue detail elements and an integral countertop with storage below to define the path of travel.
The language carries to the bath, with dot floor tiles in the same blue finish, a floating custom vanity that transitions with a continuous top into the custom shower. The result is a finely detailed series of spaces with a cohesive language.
